Restoring something you archived
Last updated August 21, 2026
Archived the wrong customer. It happens, and it is one press to undo — from a screen that also refuses the one restore that would leave you worse off, and says what to put back first.
Nothing in your book deletes. Equipment retires; customers, properties, lakes, zones, services and your own barges archive. Archiving takes a record off every list, filter and map, and keeps it — with everything that hangs off it — for the day you want it back.
Where it is
Settings → Archived lists everything the shop has archived, grouped by what it is, each with a Restore button. Restoring puts the record back on every list it was on, exactly as it was, with all of its history.
The restore it refuses, and why
A property restored onto an archived lake is back, and unreachable. It is on no map, in no zone filter and on no dispatch board — which looks exactly like the restore not having worked, so people press it again. LakeOps refuses that one and tells you what to restore first: “Restore Big Sandy first.” Put the lake back, then the property follows.
Retired equipment
A retired lift or dock section is restored from the item itself — open it and press Return to service — or in bulk from the Items list. Note that retiring a piece canceled any service plan left with nothing on it; restoring the piece does not bring those plans back. Rebuild them deliberately, so a crew is never sent back to a shoreline because somebody undid a tick.
Who can
Restoring is owner-level, under the same permission the roles form calls “Restore soft-deleted records.” Putting a record back into a live book is the mirror of taking it out, and the person who can edit a name is not automatically the person who can do either.
The one thing that cannot be undone is closing the whole account, which has its own screen and its own grace period.
